A lovely little jaunt down to The Cape...

This morning, Jeremy had the honor of speaking at a union conference down on The Cape (aka - Cape Cod). This year he is acting as the Futures' representative to Massachusetts' AFL-CIO. He's become very involved with his school/city's union and had the opportunity to take part in a pretty major way. Today he spoke after Senator John Kerry and our state's lieutenant governor. Me and Harrison are very proud of him.

Since he was speaking pretty early this morning (or was supposed to, anyway), the three of his were able to spend the night in North Falmouth at the Sea Crest Resort. The hotel itself wasn't all that but the location most definitely was. While Jeremy was at his meetings, Harrison and I were able to spend some nice time out by the ocean. It was a beautiful day.

The view from our room

Harrison watches a little Regis and Kelly (though Neil Patrick Harris was actually on this morning in case you're wondering)

Harrison takes a load off and feels the breeze between his toes

It may be hard to tell but those are all lounge chairs on the sand

Look at those good looking teeth

I absolutely adore this photo...it's perfect

Harrison dips his toes in the ocean for the first time...

It's been a while...

I know, I know - it's been a while since we've posted anything.  It feels like a lot has happened since the last post.

Let's see...we had an interesting trip to CT and NJ complete with a car dying and getting a new car. It's a very long story and too exhausting to get into right now.  Harrison has two new teeth that keep getting bigger every day.  We had our first season's visit to Russell Orchards - unfortunately we did not have a camera with us.  Harrison loved the farm animals.  He was particularly interested in the geese and chickens.  And today Harrison and Mama are visiting the zoo with Aunt Candace.

I've tried uploading a really adorable video of Harrison playing the piano but it's just not happening for some reason or another.  At any rate, here are some photos to hold his fans over.

Mom Blogs are all the rage...

I discovered dooce. com almost four years ago after my second miscarriage. I don't remember exactly how I happened upon her site. Somehow I came across it and was hooked. Her site was a much needed break from what was going on in my life. At the time she was going through postpartum depression and was writing about it with such blunt honesty and even some humor. Since I've joined the MomClub I've rediscovered her site and am constantly checking. Fortunately, you don't need to be a mom to enjoy it. Since she started her blog, about seven years ago, she's made a career out of it. It's pretty amazing.

Here's some footage of an interview with Dooce (aka Heather Armstrong) from The Today Show. Unfortunately Kathie Lee Gifford was one of the interviewers...oh well.

Dinnertime Nap...

Between new teeth, lots of rolling, and talking up a storm, the little guy gets pretty sleepy.  Last Friday night he actually fell asleep in the middle of eating his dinner.  It was so cute and funny.  It happened so fast...

Yummy thought...

I saw this and thought it was pretty neat.  I wish our country/culture was more supportive of breastfeeding.  Doctors will encourage you and tell you it's the best for your baby (as it is if it's something that's possible for both the mother and baby), but meanwhile our society will send you to the bathroom  rather than give you a comfortable place to feed your baby.  It's frustrating and sad.
